Memorial Day Weekend

So already several days have passed since my last entry but now that school is out I can try to keep up. We had a busy Memorial Day weekend with our usual trip to Smith Center. Saturday night we were treated to hamburgers at my brother's place in Bellaire. The burgers were yummy! The girls had fun with Chase picking flowers in the weeds up and down the road. Katie picked up her first tick. I wasn't really prepared for that but was glad she was showering when we found it. Thankfully she did not freak out.

My mom's family gathers at the park on Sunday for the annual picnic. We estimate there were about 60 people attending this year. The food was delicious and thankfully the weather cooperated.

Later our trip to the cemetaries was postponed with the threat of heavy rain. Lexie, Katie and Chase decided to test the public swimming pool for 20 minutes before they had to close due to storm. I think it was a little cold! Of course we did make ice cream with Uncle Larry's family. It is an annual tradition now.

Monday we finally were able to make it to the cemetary to place flowers for all the relatives. I always learn some interesting tidbits of information when we go to the cemetary. Then the girls and I headed for home.

Welcome to our crazy world!

A friend of mine recently established a blog and I was noticing how well it chronicled the lives of her children. Since our days are busy I thought maybe this would be a great way for friends and family to catch a glimpse of what is going on in our household and for us to reflect on the changes in our lives.

So anyway, here goes! It will be interesting to see how often I will be able to post updated information.

Right now the girls are counting down the days of school that area left. There are 10! I am stressing on how much work I need to finish before those 10 days are up. I also realize that our summer schedule is going to be hectic with music, dance, work, and travels. We are also hoping to have time to spend with family and friends and some relaxing time (hopefully camping). Time flies so fast that we just hope that the fun memories of summer and childhood will stick.
