Angie stayed behind at the 'compound' to help the cook. We had to prepare the evening meal, wash dishes, and go to purchase more food items. Feeding 18 people takes all day to prep and cook. We did take time to eat a burrito at a restaurant on the way to the store. Like most restaurants they offered chips and pico de gallo while waiting for the food. There was also two other items for the chips. One was a sweet green sauce that was not hot and the second was marinated carrot slices that had some kick to them. It was delicious! Since we (the missionary, the cook, and I) walked, we had to reconsider our purchases that were to be carried home. So a trip to purchase the watermelon will have to be a different day when we have vehicle - or kids to carry it!
All the fruit and veggies have to be soaked in Iodine to kill any parasites that may be on the fruit if you are eating the skin. But if you are cooking it then it is just washed.

The workers left at 7 am to the work site which is about 45 min drive. While there they moved two large piles of bricks and the load of tile. The job has hired two local bricklayers so the job is professionally done and our job is to help them so that all they have to do is lay the brick. The team mixed the mud, carried and wet the bricks and anything else that they wanted done. As they were moving the bricks they discovered many critters - scorpion, centipede, and lizard.

After supper we took a walk to the edge of the lake. It is about 2 blocks down and there is a 'boardwalk' and park area. It is beautiful to see the mountains that surround the town and lake. There were horses wandering along the edge of the lake.
James is attempting to pose for a lovely picture with Lexie. However, Lexie and Allie have different thoughts!
